Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Queer Issues
Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Queer Issues works to identify institutional, structural and cultural initiatives that advances the UC Merced campus climate for the LGBTQ+ and expanding community. The advisory committee advocates on campus on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community for participation, success and visibility across multiple dimensions of inequality including, but not limited to, gender, race, ethnicity, class, age, religion, ability, veteran, marital and familial status. The committee will operate under a shared governance model, intentionally including undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, senate and non-senate faculty and staff members.

Lavender Graduation
The Lavender Graduation is an annual cultural ceremony that recognizes LGBTQ+ and Ally students of all races and ethnicities and acknowledges the tenacity for creating positive social change by being part of the UC Merced graduating class. Our dedication to honoring the lived experiences and triumphs of our LGBTQ+ and Ally graduates is rooted in the desire to create a welcoming, inclusive and affirming environment. The planning committe focuses on the planning and development of Lavender Graduation.
Trans Awareness Week
Transgender Awareness Week is a week of programs created to help raise the visibility of transgender and gender non-conforming people, and address the issues the community faces. Normally takes place the week leading up to Transgender Day of Remembrance.
Fabulosity Drag Show
Fabulosity Drag Show, the culminating event for UC Merced’s annual Pride Week, brings together LGBTQ+ and Allies to celebrate the possibility of gender performance through the exaggeration, illusion and parody of gender norms. If your interested in learning what it takes to develop a drag show from the ground up, sign up to be part of the planning committee!
Pride Planning
Pride Week is an annual week coordinated by Lambda Alliance, collaborating with LGBTQ+ Initiatives and other partners. It is comprised of 2+ events daily, all dedicated to allocating a space for folks on campus to feel saffirmed,empowered, and to have fun. We host events like Cuir Noche, Pride Picnic, Lube Olympics, QT Sleepover, and more! We invite you to help with planning, creating, and volunteering! This is your opportunity to leave your mark on Pride Week!
